Flashcard activities may be enhanced by introducing hand puppets and/or musical intruments. Children can work individually, in pairs or in a group.
Suggested uses:
an adult tells a story contained in a set of pictures. The child listens and then, looking at the same set, tries to repeat as many details as possible;
a child draws three cards and tells the stories which they represent; the difficulty should be graded with more cards added; to add variety to the game, multisensual elements can be introduced (hand-puppets, musical instruments);
a child draws five cards and tells its own story; the number of cards should be adjusted to the child s abilities; multisensual ele ments can be introduced (hand-puppet s, musical instruments);
version for a group: the first child draws a card, chooses one musical instrument, starts to tell a story and play. The subsequent players draw their cards and continue the story, repeating the story so far. They also have to reconstruct the sounds played by the first child.
The activities suggested can be adjusted to the needs, age, abilities or the number of players by modifying the rules as necessary.
